Please join me in congratulating Todd Beckstrand in his new capacity as Louis and Company's Northwest Regional Manager reporting to Vito Mancini. Effective Monday, May 2, 2011, Todd will assume responsibility for Seattle sales and operations. Todd will be relocating to the Seattle area over the next few months.

Jay Rosenlof, Portland Branch Manager, and Brian Todd, Fremont/Hawaii Branch Manager will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day sales and branch operations of their locations, reporting directly to Vito Mancini.

In a few months, Todd Beckstrand will assume full responsibility for the newly created Northwest Region, which includes Washington and Oregon, Northern California and Hawaii. At that time, Jay Rosenlof and Brian Todd will report to Todd Beckstrand.

Todd's education includes a B.S. in Accounting from Westminster College and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. As the Financial Officer of the former Machinery Hardware Supply in Salt Lake City and as Distribution Center (Operations) Manager for the Utah/Idaho region, Todd brings more than nineteen years of management experience to his new position.

Brea, California -- In honor of its 35th anniversary, on Friday July 9th, 2010, Louis and Company conducted customer appreciation open house celebrations at many of its 18 branch locations located throughout the Western and South Western United States. Over 1,000 customers attended the branch events where they were treated to a barbecue lunch, greeted by Louis and Company personnel and provided new product demonstrations by leading manufacturers such as Formica, Blum, Grass, Knape and Vogt, Rev-Shelf and Doellken-Woodtape.

During the week of July 12th-16th, also in honor of its anniversary, Louis and Company held a series of special promotions that culminated in one of its customers winning a 5hp. SawStop brand table saw. The winner of the 5hp. SawStop table saw chosen through a random drawing was Metroplex Wood Specialty, a woodworking company located in Dallas, Texas. On Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 Tom Mauss, the President and CEO of Louis and Company presented the SawStop table saw to Russ Heydenreich, the owner of Metroplex Wood Specialty and James Keepin, Purchasing. Tom was joined by Bill Donnelly, North Texas Region Sales Manager and Doug Hoover, Outside Sales.

Work on the new web site began over a year ago and for the past 4 months a group of 50 customers have been successfully placing orders on a Beta version of the site. The development of the new site began with a survey of Louis and Company customers needs as they relate to searching and ordering products online for their businesses. As a result of what was learned, the new web site ties directly into the company's SAP enterprise business system so that live inventory checks can be made and orders processed on a swift and timely basis.

"We understand that many of our customers are under incredible pressure during these rough economic times and need to spend as much of their working time as possible finding new business and generating sales" says Tom Mauss, President and CEO of Louis and Company. "Our new online ordering web site enables them to place their orders during evenings or weekends, if needed, so that ordering their products from Louis and Company is quick, easy and is done so on their terms."
